5 Fantastic Types of Pool Parties

Summer is just around the corner, meaning there will be more opportunities for outdoor parties. One great way to have amazing outdoor parties is to utilize your swimming pool if you have one. San Diego Pools brings you many ways to celebrate near your pool. Continue reading below for five great pool party ideas.

1. Luau

A luau or tiki party is one of the most classic ideas for a high-end pool party. Offer leis or hula skirts to your guests, serve drinks in coconut cups, and have tiki torches blazing. Make sure to have hula music blaring all night long. Provide themed food such as kabobs and pineapples, and play games like water limbo to keep the fun going for hours. A luau allows you and your guests to truly celebrate.

2. Beach Party

Even though you may not live at the beach, you can have a beach party right beside your pool. Have shell décor throughout for authenticity. Make sure there are umbrellas and extra beach towels available. Play traditional beach games, such as cornhole and water volleyball. Serve snacks like fruit, chips, and guacamole for guests to enjoy. Offer tropically themed drinks, and have beach music playing to transport your guests’ minds to white sandy beaches and gently rolling waves.

3. Water Wars

If you have a competition-loving family or group of friends, what better way to party by the pool than having water wars? Split the guests into even teams and let the games begin. Choose different games that meet the age levels of your guests. The friendly competition will keep your guests entertained from the moment they arrive. Make sure to have an awards ceremony at the end to celebrate the winners.

4. Patriotic Party

For July 4th, a patriotic pool party is perfect. Use red, white, and blue décor and feature American-themed music to get everyone in the spirit. If your party is at night, you could pass out sparklers to guests. Cook hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, and serve traditional drinks such as iced tea, lemonade, and beer.

5. Pink Flamingo Party

When holding a pink flamingo party, encourage guests to wear retro swimwear to really get everyone in the mood. Play golden oldies on outdoor speakers. Don’t neglect the pink flamingos—scatter them all around your outdoor space. Offer refreshments everyone will enjoy, and make sure to plan fun games.
